How Hatred Makes Middle Class Folks Blind To Facts.

By Steve Schreiner
Saturday, Nov 1 2008, 02:32 PM

What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said 'I do' to?
What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer
measured up to his standards?

What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers,
but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5*?
* The Keating Five were five United States Senators
(
http://en.wikip edia.org/wiki/United_States_Senator)
accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_scandal)
as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savings_and_Loan_crisis) of the late
1980s and early 1990s.

What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers
would be as close as they are?

PS: What if Barack Obama had an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter? What would
people be saying?

You are The Boss... which team would you hire?

With America facing historic debt, 2 wars, stumbling health care, a
weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, mortgage crises, bank
foreclosures, etc.

Educational Background:

Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in
International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna *** Laude

Biden:
University of Delaware
- B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College
of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894
of 899

Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Now, which team are you going to hire?

What if your choice was a member of the democratic new party that believes in socialism, sat in a church and turned a blind eye about his pastor, didnt take care of an aunt who is living in the slums in boston who turns out to be an illegal, what if you broke your campaign promise about taking private financing, what if your candidate denied his affliatations with a felon, and a known terrorist. what if your candidate and his cronies keep changing what middle class is, is it $250k, $200, $150k $120k???

I will take the Senator with National Security experience and VP that has executive experience over a community organizer any day of the week.

November 1, 2008 3:07 PM

ontheoutskirts

MTGMOM,

McCain is the one that cannot decide what middle class is.

McCain has run a campaign that is driven exclusively by PR opportunities.  He has yet to propose a solid platform to rescue the country from economic ruin.  McCain is also aged to the point where he can barely move... do we seriously want a VP that will manipulate government for her own personal vegeance (Troopergate)?  I don't.  I'm quite tired of that.

November 1, 2008 3:26 PM

mtgmom

ontheoutskirts, so I guess being a POW for 5 years disqualifies you for president because when he was fighting for OUR freedom, he got tortured and he can't move as well as some??? that is as absured as saying Biden isnt fit because his 2 brain anuerysms.

and visit McCain's website, it will tell you all about him.

November 1, 2008 3:44 PM

Steve Schreiner

MTGMOM,

Wow - I just got done kicking your butt on my previous post - and now I'm going to kick it again!!!

The ONLY THING that I'll give you about McCain is that the guy is a true to life war hero. That's all I'll give you........

The McPain/MorePain team PROMISE more disaster for this country.

We need a change-we need middle class relief-we need our country back.

We need Obama/Biden!!!

Steve.

Oh P.S. - I'll GLADLY take ANY of those financial numbers you've listed above!!! I'll trade my raising a family on $50,000 for a six-figure salary anyday!!!

November 1, 2008 3:53 PM

ALL,

Watch this video of McCain and his warped ideas about our economy. It'll take you about three minutes. Scary..........

You're forgetting the most relevant 'What if' question, Steve...

What if McCain was BLACK and Obama was WHITE?

This is the answer to this 'what if' question:

November 1, 2008 5:16 PM

STUBBORNOLDMAN

The other important thing to remember is who each candidate will choose to be members of their Cabinet once they win the election.  Our own Governor Doyle was a very early supporter of Barack Obama, well before many others jumped on the Obama bandwagon.  If Obama wins, there's a fair to good chance that Doyle will be asked to serve some Cabinet post in Obama's administration as a kind of payback for the early endorsement.  From what I know about Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton (who will assume Doyle's job), I'm not sure that's really a good idea for Wisconsin or the country.  How many 'shell games' will Doyle place with the much larger Federal budget compared to what those 'shell games' that he's played on the State of Wisconsin's budget in the past?  I bet he's licking his chops just thinking of the possibilities.

November 1, 2008 7:37 PM

Just a Dude

Steve,

I used to enjoy  your blogging. I make a point to check in to what you are writing about, but you have lost it. In reality, Dan Devine will have more impact on your day to day life then will the president of the United States.

Regardless of if I agree or disagree with what you have to say, you always seemed to be a "Local" guy. you made your point, we get it (I disagree, but I get it.) Let's hear some more about the house across the street, the guy with the noisy truck or what ever local issue has you on edge today. If I want to read about National Policy, there are much smarter people the you or I writing on the subject.

November 1, 2008 8:37 PM

SuzieBellWA

Steve,

why did you edit what JUST A DUDE wrote about me in his comment?  Do we have to worry about you editing every comment?

November 1, 2008 9:59 PM

SuzieBellWA

Sorry, I have to rephrase, I meant that JUST A DUDE made a comment about someone named "the hot Laura" assuming he was talking about Laura's comment about discontinuing his ignorant views on McCain.  (not saying that I don't think I'm hot, but my husband might)..

November 1, 2008 10:07 PM

Steve Schreiner

SUZIE,

I deleted LAURA BEYER's comment because it was out of line. I would NEVER tell another blogger what to do on their posts, and I'm not going to allow her to do that here.

JUSTADUDE had a thread about her that I edited. It pertained to what she wrote - and now it's gone.

Actually SUZIE, I don't get into editing comments. I've recieved the "stink eye" from the online editors for not editing more comments. I think that people should be able to say what they want.

LUARA stepped over the line, and she knows it. But don't you worry SUZ - your comments are safe............

Steve.

November 1, 2008 10:13 PM

Just a Dude

Suzie,

I think it has something to do with the "Fairness" doctrine :)

Not a big deal, it was just a off-the-cuff comment about Laura B being "Hot" I didn't mean to offend. Sorry.

November 1, 2008 10:13 PM

Steve Schreiner

JUSTADUDE,

Sorry DUDE, but you'll have to either put up with it or go away until Wednesday.............

Well - that - or start your own blog. Then you can do as you wish!!!

Steve.

November 1, 2008 10:15 PM

Just a Dude

So are you promising that come Wednesday there will be no more Obama/McCain stuff?

November 1, 2008 10:19 PM

SuzieBellWA

Hey JUST A DUDE,

I think she's cute too!!  You didn't offend me.

STEVE,

I agree with Laura about it going on and on yet I don't think she stepped over the line. We can agree to disagree. We know you are voting for Obama and why.  You know why others are voting for McCain.  I am not going to tell you what to do, but how about blogging about the outcome, an "I told you so", if Obama wins.  No matter what the outcome, I do appreciate you blogging about this and everyone's comments.

No wonder so many people avoid discussing religion and politics.

November 1, 2008 10:23 PM

Steve Schreiner

JUSTADUDE,

PROMISE!!!

Steve.

November 1, 2008 10:24 PM

W.A.M.

Steve......you can spit out all the Obama lies and crap you want. ALOT of people will vote for the better person which is JOHN McCAIN. You really sound like a desperate little man with your negative rants.

November 1, 2008 10:55 PM

LIVINLIFEINSTALLIS

Hey Steve...

How interesting is it that most people checking out your blog are republicans??? I guess they want to bring you over to "the other side"...stay stronger brother! LOL.

No offense Republican peeps...I get where you are coming from! I think John McCain is a nice guy...but seriously why the heck did he bring on Palin as his running mate? For the last 8 years we have been leaded by a republican...so let's try something new! A young democrate...who isn't a just a white man...who has a family and a wife! He is charasmatic...just President Clinton...let's give it a try...nothing could be worse than what Bush did in the last 4 years...btw...I voted for Bush in the last election.

Steve-

I hate, hate, hate, politics. All it comes down to is money and corruption.

SO EVERYONE WHO IS GOING TO VOTE ON TUESDAY...THINK OF IT THIS WAY:

Which canidate-McCain or Obama is the lesser of two evils???

Who do you truly believe can handle that power and still maintain being a "normal" person.

November 2, 2008 1:29 AM

Steve Schreiner

LIVIN,

Well, if I didn't have anyone to argue with I'd get bored........That, and Republicans are fun to toss around. See you at the polls Tues!!!

W.A.M.,

Yeah - comparing factual information is negative?!?! Get your head out of your butt man - you just don't like me exposing your team as inept.

Plus - you're Union - hello - McCain and Palin are anti-union!!! Hopefully that sinks in................or are they going to pay your bills for you???

Steve.

November 2, 2008 6:41 AM

jadedeye

LIVINLIFE -

There was a political cartoon in the Detroit Free Press earlier this week that had a man looking at the calendar at Nov. 4th and he was thinking "Happy The Lesser Of Two Evils Day." It fits right in with your comment so you are not alone out there. Personally, that thought in itself is a sad commentary.

STEVE -

You and I don't see eye-to-eye politically, but then I rarely agree with the mainstream parties anyway. It is the engineer/scientist/pragmatist/... in me, and then some. I will say this, I would not mind hoisting a pint with you over at O'Connor's.

The editing out of the commentary by Laura B. was reasonable. She has her blog and you have yours. There is an unspoken line that one blogger should not tell another to quit their discussion. I believe that is rooted in the "...freedom of speech..." discussion in a  very old document that some people wish did not exist. Now, if there are decency guidelines that were not followed, then that is understood and should be enforced by the editors, but "decency" guidelines are for another discussion and not proper here in this thread. If one does not approve of the presented argument, rebut the argument. Do not personally attack the commentator. Once that is done, reasoned discussion has disappeared.

ALL -

From my standpoint, political extremism is driving the discussions. The more extreme the rhetoric that is presented, for its shock value, the more tendency there is to respond to it. Myself, I am still on the NOTA bandwagon but I may still put in two names as write-ins. I will decide that before I get to the line on Tuesday.

Now to wait and see how the polls count out on Tuesday evening. I will have the TV going and the laptop script running to update from as many sites as I can the vote counts. Just a little fun on the side.

November 2, 2008 6:45 AM

Laura Beyer

Hey Steve,

I apologize for my previous comment about "moving on".  I think maybe I was trying to diffuse what appears to be something that is getting way out of control with all of the commentators.  I do agree I would not appreciate it if you had done that to myself.  Even if I do not agree with you, I respect you as a person and also a fellow blogger.

Do you mind putting the "hot" statement back in??? :))

Steve Schreiner

JADEDEYE,

I know you and I would get along!!!

To tell you the truth - my politics is actually very simple - keep my butt working!!! I'll take care of the rest. If I get my 40 in - all's well.

I just like to stir the pot with the other stuff. Keep's me from getting bored...........

Steve.

November 2, 2008 11:32 AM

Steve Schreiner

LAURA,

Cool.

You know I love to argue - so if the commentators run it up to a fever pitch, I'm in debate heaven.

Steve.

November 2, 2008 11:34 AM

W.A.M.

Steve my brother,

I'm in a union/teamsters because I choose to be. But that does not mean I choose to be a democrate. Yes I know that repub's are anti union which I am not. Unions are very benificial to those who are in them. I also am not a blind sheep doing what the union tells me what is in my best interest. Like telling me to vote for Obama..............

ps......Obama/Pelosi want to get rid of the secret ballet when voting in union elections. What kind of crap is that????!!!!!

I still love ya Steve........    ;)

November 2, 2008 11:59 AM

Steve Schreiner

W.A.M.,

Vote your job dude..........

Everything else is secondary.

P.S. They want to have card check authorization in representation elections. The way it is right now - the NLRB elections are a joke!!! Once a election is filed for non-union workers on wether or not they want a Union to represent them - the employer starts firing Union supporters, ect. to discourage people from voting Union yes.

Card check does away with the old method of employer intimidation, and if 50% plus 1 at a company want to be represanted by a Union - then the employer has to bargian in good faith.

This is a good thing for all workers............

Now - vote for your job!!!

Steve.

November 2, 2008 12:19 PM

Just a Dude

Steve,

While the firing may happen in some work places, I can tell you that under current law it's not legal. I own a union shop (Yes I chose for it to be union) so I would say all republicans are anti-union. I personally would never want to be a member of one because I see how it hurts the go-getters and hard workers, but as a owner there are certain benefits to having union shop as well. It's a partnership between the union and management so we can both succeed in this strange economic state. That's not politics - that's good business.

November 2, 2008 1:19 PM

Steve Schreiner

JUSTADUDE,

You're right, it ain't legal, but it still happens.

Some employers do not share your common sense approach, and will take drastic action to remain union-free.

The stats show that when heads roll, the rest of who's left votes againt the Union. Card check equals the playing field........

Are you a construction guy???

Steve.

November 2, 2008 1:31 PM

Just a Dude

No, not in the construction trade.

November 2, 2008 1:56 PM

JTB

Steve, you're a Liberal....we all know it by now.  You're not gonna change anyone's vote from your blog and I hope to God no one makes their decision based on your rants on how Obama is the next coming.  I can't wait til this election is over so we don't have to read about how much you love Obama!

November 2, 2008 6:34 PM

Obama's the man - you'll see..........

Do you want a leader or a follower?  Personally, the leader of the free world should be... you know, a leader.  Not a puppet.  Obama votes with the democrats something like 97% of the time.  Yeah, realy leader there.

STUBBORNOLDMAN

Rush Limbaugh had a segment on his show today dealing with some newly 'discovered' audio in which Obama admits that under HIS plan, electricity rates would 'skyrocket' and that those coal companies would necessarily have to pass those higher fines/taxes down to consumers.

newsbusters.org/.../25829

The entire, un-editted 2-minute audio of Obama's comments can be found at this link.  Biden's little cameo at the end of this clip is also very interesting.  Be your own judge.

I wonder how all of the union workers in the coal mining/processing industry feel about 'their' candidate admitting that he'd bankrupt their industry and cause them to lose their jobs as a result of his higher taxes and fines.  I wonder how many of those union coal workers voted early for Obama and are now wondering if they really did the right thing.  Like Steve has said more than once, "Vote for your job".  Hey guys, you got what you voted for...  Don't say we didn't warn you.

Now, GET OFF MY LAWN! ;)

Is he saying that Obama (the agent of 'Change') is going to fail?

November 3, 2008 1:37 PM

Steve Schreiner

MUTE617,

WOW!!!

Have you been under a rock???

McCain is a Bush re-run!!! Over 90% baby............

That's why us liberals call him McSame - because he's just as piss-poor stupid as Bush!!!

Steve.

November 3, 2008 4:13 PM

mtgmom

I dont get Obama and the change thing either. His "change" isnt anything different than what all liberals want. I dont know how you can call McCain McSame, when Obama has a "more" same record on voting with his party than McCain does.

November 3, 2008 6:56 PM

STUBBORNOLDMAN

Be careful about criticizing the 'Annointed One', MTGMOM.

theamericansentinel.com/.../the-joe-the-plumber-investigation-obamunism-in-action

This is the typical type of unethical behavior we can expect from all DEMOCRATIC Obama supporters, it seems.  Helen Jones-Kelley will NEVER be chastised by the Obama campaign for what she did.  Bogus, totally bogus.  This kind of story is an example of the types of stories that make me consider voting a total Republican ticket even though I've never done that in any election in the past.

November 3, 2008 7:26 PM

cmporterfield

Stubborn,

Sam W. was checked out NOT because he disagreed with Senator Obama, but because Senator McCain invoked his name 20-some times in the debate.  I think any curious person with a little internet savvy could have found out a lot of the personal information that became public.  The only thing that I find somewhat ethically questionable is that Mr. W wasn't made aware that he was to become a public figure that people would inevitably examine closer.

As for the 'recently discovered' coal audio/Palestinian dinner party tape/etc., all these things have been around for months, if not years.  If there was any validity to them, they would have been talked about well before now.

See you at the polls,

cmp

November 3, 2008 7:45 PM

STUBBORNOLDMAN

So, you're saying that simply because 'Joe the Plumber' was mentioned by McCain a few dozen times during the debate, that gives a paid government official, like Obama-supporter Helen Jones-Kelley, to use her power to authorize private information to be released to the public?  Is that what you're saying?  This isn't even close to abuse of power in your opinion?

Using that kind of logic, any McCain supporter working in a government job should be allowed to authorize any investigation of Michelle Obama to discover anything they find that is totally unrelated to the election.  Both Joe the Plumber and Michelle Obama are public figures, so that makes them fair game, right?  I have a hunch you think any similar investigation of Michelle Obama would be nothing but a smear attempt by some McCain supporter (and you'd be right).

November 3, 2008 8:05 PM

cmporterfield

Did I miss something?  All I heard was that Joe the Plumber's name was Sam, and that he wasn't a licensed plumber.  That doesn't seem like an invasion of privacy:  both of those things would be matters of public record.

If there was other information, it didn't show up on my radar.

November 3, 2008 10:19 PM

SuzieBellWA

Hey guys!

don't know if there is any truth to this, but found this tidbit of info on another website recently about NO-BAMA

"I can't vote for Obama's policies and I don't like his secret life...his illegal aunt, and the fact that he has a brother that is homeless...he is not practicing what he preaches....he is singing a "Siren Song" and lulling us to sleep."

Does anyone know if he has a brother that is homeless???

Plus, how can we justify what happened to Joe the Plumber?  I agree with STUBBORN.. let's pull out info on Michelle Obama... I am sure it's more than justified, especially before more people vote (incorrectly)..  :)

November 3, 2008 10:52 PM

SuzieBellWA

Please vote McCain/Palin:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Gov. Sarah Palin violated no ethics laws when she fired her public safety commissioner, the state personnel board concluded in a report released Monday. "There is no probable cause to believe that the governor, or any other state official, violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with these matters," the report says.

"Gov. Palin is pleased that the independent investigator for the Personnel Board has concluded that she acted properly in the reassignment of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan," her attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said in a statement.

November 4, 2008 12:53 AM

STUBBORNOLDMAN

I agree. Let's hope that everybody who votes today has done SOME research into who will be the best candidate available for all elected offices.  Don't forget to vote more than once since our Senator Jim Sullivan had VETOED the Wisconsin State Constitutional Amendment for PHOTO-ID before voting (sorry, but I couldn't resist another opportunity to give a FACTUAL 'jab' to Sullivan).

November 4, 2008 6:44 AM

STUBBORNOLDMAN

CMPORTERFIELD,

Yes, you did miss something.

Here's an example of what I was referring to in my previous post.  I don't see how investigating Wurzelbacher's (or any civilian's) past provides any insight on which presidential candidate is better.  It was only an attempt by the MSM to discredit him since he hasn't jumped on the Obama-bandwagon with both feet yet.

www.businessandmedia.org/.../20081016182126.aspx

Look at the last sentence in this article.  It appears as though Wurzelbacher might just be a prophet, able to predict the future since both Biden and Obama have reduced the threshold on defining the 'rich class' in the recent past.

Hi Stubborn.

Thanks for the followup.  Your initial post went after Helen Jones-Kelley.  The second post indicates that it was journalists doing basic research that brought up some personal stuff about Sam W.  Either way,  a previously unknown person being  thrust into the national spotlight will attract media attention.

I don't care about Sam W.  It didn't provide any insight for which candidate is better (or was, past tense:  I voted already).  But, based on your second link, all that came out was in the public record.

Alright, that's it for me.  It's been a long 21 months.  Let's all vote our consciences, and be ready to support the next president of the United States.

November 4, 2008 8:44 AM

jszemborski

Hey STUBBORN,

Typically you've been pretty good with your posts, but I take exception to one of them.  I'm surprised you put this one out and had to double take to see it was your name posting it.

Your statement... "This is the typical type of unethical behavior we can expect from all DEMOCRATIC Obama supporters, it seems."  The actions of one do not equal the actions of all.  I think you're keenly aware of that.

I've been fairly quiet on the sidelines and occasionally toss something in.  I haven't blown up at all the slanted posts you've put out that are so hard leaning against Obama but never really putting anything out there about how McCain will do better and what it will be that he'll do better.  Its been a constant attack mode, something the McCain campaign has been doing non-stop as well.

On the flip side, I haven't seen much from any Obama supporters about how the Joe the non-licensed plumber turned wannabe Country singer discussion was blown out of context because Obama was talking about making the progressive tax system more progressive.  I didn’t see any Obama supporters capitalizing on the "I'm mad, I'm really mad" Ron Weisflog from the McCain Waukesha Town Hall meeting ran a business in a slightly less than desirable manner (just do a CCAP search for Ron R Weisflog and/or Weisflog Showroom to see all the cases, www.jsonline.com/.../33732894.html).  If I were to make the same blanket statement, I'd say this is the typical type of unethical behavior of all REPUBLICAN McCain supporters, it seems.  But I know that one shady businessman on the verge of retirement or just having retired having to deal with lawsuits and a guy who just wants the limelight to start his career and/or make a name for himself doesn't mean that ALL republican McCain supporters do it.

Specifically about “Joe the Plumber”, it’s the information age.  It does not take much to dig this stuff out.  Licensing of contractors is easily available; do any work on your house recently?  Do you know that given a name I can find out quite a bit about a person, all through free legal means if I put the minimum amount of time to it?  (Legal & civil involvement, where they attended school, if I know an approximate location I can find their address and phone number, businesses they’re involved in and the track record for that business, etc.)  And let’s face it; Joe the Plumber was the poster child for McCain's attack on Obama's out of context comment about spread the wealth.  That situation made “Joe the Plumber” a target whether he wanted it or not, no blame assigned to McCain.

Now that I got my last post in about this and the election is underway, I suppose for the most part this won’t matter, but I had to put it out there.  Just glad this madness is going to start winding down, finally.

November 4, 2008 9:12 AM

mute617

Steve... what are those votes in the other 10%?  People like throwing that 90% voted with Bush stat, but NOBODY ever says what the 10% of the votes were when he didn't side with Bush.

It's a bad example, but it's the one I've been using.  Say there was a vote stating that all children should be kicked in the shins by adults on a daily basis.  Bush voted yes, McCain voted No.  That would be included in the 10% and a good thing that he didn't vote with Bush.  So, I would love to know the 10%.

November 4, 2008 11:27 AM

mute617

Also, why doesn't Obama get crap for voting exactly how his party tells him to 97% of the time?

November 4, 2008 11:29 AM

jszemborski

MUTE617, Project Vote Smart can help you with that.  (www.votesmart.org/index.htm)

November 4, 2008 11:32 AM

jszemborski

MUTE617, Obama doesn't get crap for the 97% of the vote because the 90% vote with Bush is perceived to be the reason we're in the spot we're in today.  Its assumed that the 97% of the vote that Obama voted on with Dems is against Bush's policies.  What a more interesting and thought provoking question would be is how often percentage wise did Obama\Dems vote with Bush, which has yet to be answered...  I bet its more often than you think.  Just tossing both sides out there.

JSZEMBORSKI,

Yes, you are correct in calling me out on painting ALL Democratic supporters of Obama with that corrupt, ethically challenged broad brush.  That was wrong of me and I apologize for that broad-brush approach that I used.  I'm just a little annoyed at the lack of concern shown for things that I think really matter.

What I was thinking of at the time I wrote that sentence was the arrogance that SOME (not all, certainly) Obama supporters had with respect to skirting ethics in order to get Obama elected.  I shouldn't have lumped ALL Obama supporters in with the types of over-zealous people like Helen Jones-Kelley and Democratic Senator Lena Taylor.  Ms. Taylor probably wasn't aware (or more accurately, probably didn't CARE) that public officials should not be hanging out around polling places during an election.  Either way, it was a dumb thing for her to do.  It’s called ‘electionerring’.

"According to the Columbus Dispatch, Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed yesterday that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher after the Oct. 15 presidential debate, in which he was mentioned repeatedly by Republican Sen. John McCain."

Why was this woman even consulted to do ANY search on him?  If if was all a matter of public record, then why did the trail end at her name?  There must have been some things that were not typically available as a matter of public record that Kelly wanted to 'somebody else' to reveal.  It's those kind of people that do anything 'for the cause' that bother me rather than those Obama-supporters who play by the rules.  The MSM has jumped all over these new revelations about Wurzelbacher as they were discovered.

Speaking of not playing by the rules and/or ethics, the other thing that's continuing to bother me is the fact that some person at the Obama campaign INTENTIONALLY removed the verification used to give money to Obama via his web site.  I have heard no mention of this in the MSM around here, have you?

hotair.com/.../team-obama-deliberately-avoided-credit-card-security-checks

Watch for a future story in which a lot of banks will be refunding customers for 'errant' duplicate donations to Obama that those customers SAID were bogus.  Seriously, why did Obama's campaign webmaster INTENTIONALLY remove these standard, widely-accepted verification checks?  That's not a rhetorical question that I pose for the Obama supporters.  Why do you think they did this?  I think that is a brilliant move (although incredibly unethical) by the webmasters at the Obama web site.  They (Obama) get all the money, while the people who knowingly contributed using bogus addresses will likely get the bank to refund the money to those people because they'll say that it was a billing error.  If I gave $75 to Obama via his web page, but then saw that there were 19 other charges for $75 as well when I got my statement, I'm sure I could convince my bank that those other 19 were bogus even if I really DID donate 20 times.  Brilliant!  It speaks volumes about the way the Obama administration is likely to operate if he wins the election.  I hope his plan to improve the economy doesn't use the same type of shell-game tactics.

The McCain sign on my front lawn is coming down before the sun rises tomorrow morning.  The only reason why I put my sign up was that my neighbor had put an Obama sign up in their front lawn.  Then, after I put my sign up, they put ANOTHER Obama sign up.  I actually thought it was pretty funny.  For the record, I get along just fine with that neighbor and I will after the election as well.

I hope EVERYBODY will remove ALL political signs from their yard immediately after the election is over.  How about this for a transitional blog topic to ‘ease’ us out of this current political ferver:  Let’s debate the issue whether political signs should be allowed to remain on private property well after an election.  We’d have the property rights of property owners pitted against the people who think (like me) that political signs are one step above being considered litter.  I know, I should get my own blog rather than telling others what to do with theirs.  But, I can still say…

Now, GET OFF MY LAWN! ;)

STUBBORN,

I think both Obama and McCain have done some stuff they probably don't want to see the light of day.  Whether or not its balanced between the two or one is worse than the other, no one will ever know.  The thing that surprises me is that they did the things they did and are able to continue on with their daily lives as though nothing is wrong and there's nothing to hide.

I hear you on Lena Taylor, didn't much care for her against Walker, still really don't care for her.  I also don't care for shady politics or candidate promotion of any kind.

Onto the yard litter, bah, don't worry about it, we'll get a HUGE snowstorm that will bury all them signs until next spring. :)

Quick side note, giving credit where its due - THANK YOU CITY OF WEST ALLIS FOR LEARNING AT LEAST ONE THING FROM LAST YEAR, LEAF COLLECTION HAS BEEN TOP NOTCH SO FAR THIS FALL!  At least three pick ups so far and counting...

Stubborn,

Regarding removing political signs from lawns, that reminded me of what I think everytime I see one of those "End The War Now!" signs.

What war are they referring to?? The "war" in Iraq is pretty much not a war anymore. We're already drawing down the troop levels there, with Iraqi security forces taking over security in most of their regions.

The war in Afganistan? I thought The Messiah wants more troops sent to Afganistan and make it the primary front in the war on terror.

The war on terror? Whose against that! Seems to be working so far, no attacks on the US since 9-11-01.

I lump the End The War signs along with the No Blood For Oil signs. Completely and utterly worthless in relevance and context. Just old, worn out slogans. Like most liberals LOL.

I'm sorry, but this just made me laugh out loud.  If you're wondering how the first Obama press conference would be like, check this out:
